This is a Turbidity Sensor with Module, an electronic monitoring module specially developed to work with microcontroller platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PIC, ARM, AVR, among others.
The sensor efficiently detects and verifies water quality by measuring turbidity. It provides results through digital or analog signals via the corresponding pins on the module. The sensor emits infrared light at its end, capable of detecting suspended particles in water and measuring the light transmittance and dispersion rate. The turbidity increases as the concentration of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) rises.
The Turbidity Sensor is ideal for monitoring water turbidity in rivers, streams, lakes, tanks, laboratories, catchment, and research sites. It has a specially prepared end for direct contact and comes with an electronic module that amplifies and transmits data to the microcontroller.

Theory of Operation
The sensor measures the amount of light transmitted through water, which decreases as soil or suspended particles increase.
Transmitted light levels are converted into turbidity measurements.
In practical applications, such as dishwashers, these measurements are compared to clean water levels to optimize washing cycles and conserve energy.
By monitoring turbidity, energy and water usage can be minimized for lightly soiled water samples.
